Tatkal Ration Card

For the public convenience and in order to streamline the issuing procedure of ration cards, the NCT Govt. of Delhi has now decided to start the Tatkal Ration Card scheme for them. Under this scheme the ration card would be issued to the public within 2 days of the filling of the application form after the payment of mentioned processing fee. The following instructions are to be followed in this case:

  • Only Permanent Ration Cards (PRCs) under this scheme, under ‘Above Poverty Line’ category could be issued. BPL/Antyodaya or JRCs cards should not get issued under the scheme.
  • The scheme is also not applicable for foreign nationals.
  • Its application forms are easily available in all the circle offices, headquarters, offices and on its website of the related department.
  • The applications can get deposited in the concerned office of the Zonal Assistant Commissioner. The ration card would be obtained within 2 working days from the same office during the office hours.
  • It is to be noted by the counter clerk on the application’s counterfoil that the time and date to be mentioned when the applicant would come to take the ration card.
  • Application shall be attached with the following set of documents:- NOC from landlord, a receipt of allotment letter from Competent authority, receipt of gas connection, power of attorney, registration deed, receipts of house tax, telephone/water/electricity bill, rent receipt.
  • The application shall also be attached by the following documents:
  • The surrender certificate if in case of original old ration card orold ration card,if any.
  • 3 latest passport size photographs duly attested by Municipal Councillor/MLA/MP of Delhi or a Gazetted Officer.
  • The applicants signature on the application form that should be duly attested by Municipal Councillor/MLA/MP of Delhi or a Gazetted Officer.
  • In the cases of b & c, if the individual presents herself/himself then the attestation is not necessary.
  • An affidavit duly attested by the Oath Commissioner or Notary Public in support of the information’s correctness furnished in that application form and all the documents to be attached with the same application form.
  • Deletion and addition in the previous of old ration card and the issuance of a duplicate card would also be covered by the Tatkal service. There would not be any processing fee for the deletion in the ration card.

In order to obtain the services under Tatkal Service, a deposit of Rs. 100 will be required to submit by the applicant as the processing fee and to obtain the receipt from office.
