 1. Types of Ration Cards (Options):

Applicants are issued the card as per their choice so that they could select the one based on their requirements and preferences in the long run.

  • Rice and other food grain options are used by the people while availing the card.
  • Sugar cards ( White) : The cards are required by those individuals who want to obtain sugar instead of the usual rice food grain, however they also get 3 kg of additional sugar.
  • No commodity cards (White) these are those users who do not wish to purchase the commodity from the government centers.

4 Kg. per adult and 2Kg per child subject to a minimum of 12 kgs and a maximum of 20 kg per ration card (except Nilgris district .For Nilgris district an additional quantity of 4kg of rice is issued per ration card. For AAY beneficiaries 35 kg per month at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg.

500 gms per month per head for Sugar option ration cards as well as additional quantity of three kgs of sugar in rice.

Wheat

10 Kgs per card per month in Chennai City and District Head Quarters and 5 Kg card per month in other areas. (subject to availability)

3. The quantity of kerosene is directly proportional to the amount of cylinders which are supplied by the authorities in an impeccable manner.

Cost of kerosene is set to a pre determined price; however it might fluctuate due to the total distance of the depot from the companies which are indulged in oil marketing.

Commodities Covered

  • Rice along with the wheat and the impeccable sugarcane are the staple food offered to the users under the card ration scheme.
  • Rice along with the wheat is available at reduced cost to the card owners. Once all the targets of the wheat along with the rice are met, the can be provided to the people on a fixed rate or the ones provided by the government. Kerosene would be issued to the ration card holders and there are certain restrictions that would be required to be followed.
  • The PDS system is specifically tailor made for the users who can avail the commodities at the prices well below the market levels in an amazing style.
